Agriculture & Climate-Smart Farming

Improving Productivity, Profitability, and Resilience

ADP works alongside women farmers and cooperatives to strengthen agricultural enterprises through practical, hands-on training and personalized technical assistance. Together, we identify opportunities to improve productivity, product quality, and profitability while building resilience to changing environmental conditions.

Our training focuses on climate-smart farming practices, soil fertility, water resource management, crop diversification, and integrated pest management. We also help farmers improve post-harvest handling, adopt appropriate technologies, and access markets more directly, reducing losses and increasing income.

By combining local knowledge with proven agricultural practices, we help farmers produce higher-quality products, increase yields, and build more sustainable livelihoods.

We don't start with solutions—we start with local knowledge, then build together toward greater productivity, profitability, and resilience.

Integrated Pest Management

Growing healthy crops through knowledge, observation, and sustainable pest management.

Protecting Crops, Reducing Losses

Through our Farmer Field Schools, farmers learn to identify, monitor, and manage pests using environmentally responsible techniques that reduce crop losses, lower production costs, and improve yields. By promoting prevention, observation, and informed decision-making, IPM helps farmers build healthier and more resilient farming systems.

learning and shared experience.

Learning by Doing

Farmer Field Schools provide hands-on, season-long training where farmers learn, experiment, and solve challenges together. Using demonstration plots and peer-to-peer learning, participants gain practical skills that improve productivity, profitability, and confidence while strengthening local leadership and knowledge sharing.

Building Resilience for the Future

Climate-smart agriculture helps farmers adapt to changing weather patterns while improving productivity and protecting natural resources. Through training in soil health, water management, crop diversification, and sustainable farming practices, farmers are better equipped to build resilient livelihoods and safeguard their future harvests.

Spotlight on Moses Tuyisenge, Sr. Field Agronomist, Rwanda

ADP maintains a symbiotic relationship with the communities it serves—our support is not one-sided, but built on collaboration and mutual learning. Since 2018, Moses Tuyisenge has been a cornerstone of ADP’s agricultural operations in Rwanda, leading technical initiatives such as improvements in post-harvest handling, soil fertility management, integrated pest management, and the introduction of climate-smart farming practices. His hands-on approach ensures that cooperatives not only increase productivity but also strengthen their capacity to manage agricultural infrastructure and sustain long-term growth.

The success of the cooperatives ADP partners with is rooted in our ability to provide both technical guidance and practical agricultural solutions that strengthen production and open up market opportunities. With deep expertise in infrastructure management and farming systems, Moses plays a key role in helping cooperatives gain the tools, skills, and confidence they need to boost yields, access new markets, and lead their own community-driven progress.
